Shabana's Journey at Spring GDS Canada:
Shabana started her Spring GDS Canada journey in our Operations Department on July 4, 2001, working as an afternoon shift mail clerk. After six months, she was promoted to the position of Team Lead. Eventually due to changing work demands, the afternoon shift merged with the day shift to form one large Operations Team. As a Team Lead, Shabana was responsible for overseeing a team of five that ensured revenue protection, achieved production quotas, and met linehaul deadlines. During her tenure as a Team Lead, she earned Employee of the Year honours twice.

In 2012, Shabana was promoted to the role of Fulfillment Supervisor where she managed a team of four that was responsible for fulfilling all lettershop and pick and pack jobs. In this area her team ensured the final product met the customers’ set expectations from beginning to end.

In 2015, Shabana was promoted to Operations Manager where she managed a team of seven, and with her leadership the Operations Department was awarded Team of the Year honours in 2016. Throughout her journey Shabana recognized her proudest career highlight was when the Operations Team was awarded the CBS Hero certificate for recovering customer material and meeting our customer commitment in 2018.

With the growth of the e-commerce industry, in 2021 Spring GDS Canada implemented a tailored approach, whereby segregating mail and e-commerce into two distinct operational units that is processed by her Operations Team. This has led Shabana to implement new processes alongside the e-commerce team to efficiently ship packages worldwide.

Shabana has had an extensive career journey at Spring GDS Canada. She continues to enjoy working with a diverse group of colleagues from whom she learns from every day. She is committed to ensuring her team thrives to meet daily challenges with success.
