No, US mail cannot have a Canadian or International return address. In addition, no printing is allowed in the right top corner [2" (H) x 5" (L)]. If either of these guidelines are not followed, a $0.25/item surcharge will apply per each occurrence.

Undeliverable premium mail items will be returned to you.

Can I print on the right bottom corner of US letter mail?

No, US letter mail can’t have any printing in the right bottom corner (5/8" H, 4 3/4" L). A surcharge will apply for any occurrence.

Can a surcharge be applied for certain types of mail pieces?

Yes, the following types of mail may be subject to a surcharge:

- Mail pieces containing cheques, statements, invoices, and personal
correspondence.

- Mail with incomplete addresses.

- Mail with hand written addresses.

- Mail with no zip code or an incomplete zip code.

- Mail with First Class markings.

What is considered non-machinable mail?

Items that are oversized and non machinable (they must be sorted outside the automated mail process), will be charged accordingly.

If I have a item that is rigid, non-rectangular or not a uniformed thickness will it be processed

Yes, all items that are rigid, non rectangular or not a uniformed thickness will be processed and rated as a packet.

What is the minimum volume required to qualify for US standard mail?

To qualify for US standard mail you must have a minimum of 200 identical items per mailing. Smaller volumes will be processed and rated as premium mail. This applies to both letters and oversize items.

How should I place the address on a US standard oversize mail piece?

For US standard oversize mail, please place the address on the mail piece according to USPS specifications. You can find detailed guidelines in Section 3.4.2.

Do I need to include a postal code for international mail?

Yes, most destinations require an accurate postal code. Addresses without a postal code may be considered incomplete, and the mail piece deemed as undeliverable.
